What is Interpersonal Neurobiology?

w/ Dr Steve @SportsShrink & Matthew Mitchell @WilsonPractice

Interpersonal Neurobiology is an interdisciplinary approach to studying the development of the human mind. It is rooted firmly in the idea that integration of different functions of the mind creates a more intricate human experience and ultimately leads to peace.

@DrDanSiegel is the primary researcher behind this method of understanding the mind. He defines interpersonal as the “deep inner social experience” that occurs between two individuals, while neurobiology involves scientifically studying the development of the brain. He works to involve disciples ranging from physics to anthropology and many additional fields.

Interpersonal Neurobiology can be thought of as a field that studies the development of the brain and practical applications to promote optimal brain health through the integration of multiple brain functions. The field discusses the interactions of the mind and body in an individual and among social relationships.

Studying the work of @DrDanSiegel and Interpersonal Neurobiology is applicable for anyone engaging in a mental training program. Through Dr. Siegel’s work we can all strive to live a more integrated life.
